This past Saturday was the 9th Annual Calvert Marine Museum's Maritime Festival in Solomons. As music played, people from all over Calvert County were showcasing their crafts, talents and homemade goods. The free event held cooking demonstrations, boat rides and southern Maryland food, there was surely something for everyone to enjoy. Attendees were also entertained by learning how to pick Maryland's famous blue crabs and shuck oysters while viewing antique boats on the bay. The Grand reopening of the Marine Museum exhibits a the new Harms Gallery, which has a complete state-of-the-art audio/visual equipment that is perfect for events for both the museum and outside groups. This $2 million renovation also showcases a new and improved museum store, where you can find many made in America jewelry, clothing and home decor. This was Lovemore Lavender's debut on selling our hand-crafted goods to the public, Maria did an excellent job and many took home quality products. We look forward to having many more events where we can share our love of lavender and we hope to meet you there!
